A knitwear factory that makes one thing

We are not a trading company with a catalogue of ten thousand products. We knit one category: the soft layer worn between a brace shell and skin. That is the whole business.

What we do

SpineShield is the export brand of a family knitwear factory in Suihua, in the far northeast of China. The factory has knitted garments for years; SpineShield is the name we put on the one product we want to be known for abroad — knitted torso garments for wear under orthoses, the layer our customers call a brace liner or a brace shirt.

We knit five styles: a V-neck with soft panels under each arm, a standard V-neck, a low round neck, a version with sleeves, and a kids’ cut. Everything is a circular knit, so the body has no side seam. We supply them to brace brands, rehabilitation e-commerce sellers and orthotic workshops in the United States and Germany.

Why we started making this

The product exists because of a very ordinary problem. A brace does its job by pressing against the torso — which means it also rubs. Skin under the top edge, under the arm and along the ribcage takes the friction for ten, sixteen, twenty hours a day. People who should wear a brace stop wearing it because it is uncomfortable, and in the fitting room nobody can fix that with a strap adjustment.

What fixes it is a thin knit layer: no side seam, flat edges, and something soft exactly where the shell edge sits. It sounds simple, and it is — but the difference between a knit that works and a t-shirt pulled over the head is in the details: the flap panel, the bind-off, the recovery after washing. That is the part we spend our time on.

What the factory can actually do

We would rather understate this than have a buyer find out later. Here is what we can state plainly today:

  • Circular knitting in-house — the body of every style is knitted on our own machines, not bought in finished.
  • Flat seam finishing in-house — every join is finished flat, and inspected from the inside.
  • Two yarn routes — cotton/elastane and dry-touch polyester/elastane, in a standard and a light weight.
  • Size grading S–XXL adult, plus a kids’ grading set against your own brace shells.
  • Private label from 200 pcs — neck label, size label, colour, polybag and carton marks.
  • 20-day lead time from confirmed order and approved artwork.
  • Logo embossing in-house — your mark pressed into the knit in our own workshop, no outside printer in the chain.

Years in knitwear

More than ten years of knitting and sewing experience behind the current range.

Pieces a month

Roughly fifteen thousand pieces of monthly capacity, planned per order rather than run to stock.

Made in China

Knitted and sewn in our own workshop in Suihua, Heilongjiang. Nothing is subcontracted to a trading company.

Floor area, headcount and the exact founding year we still leave off the page. Capacity is planned per order, so ask for a written production window with your quote.

How we work with you

You send a short briefing: which style, what size split, which fabric, and roughly how many pieces. We come back in one business day with a written quote, a spec sheet and a lead time. If you want to hold the garment in your hand first, we send a paid sample set in two sizes and more than one fabric — and credit that against your first order, so the sampling costs you nothing if you go ahead.

From 200 pieces we produce under your label. Cartons are split by size and colour, because we know most of our buyers ship straight to a workshop or a clinic rather than to their own warehouse. If something goes wrong in a run, you hear it from us before the cartons close, not after they land.

Who you talk to

Jasper Liu answers every enquiry personally. There is no sales desk, no ticket queue and no account manager to be handed to. If you email about a liner at nine in the morning your time, the reply comes from the person who can actually change the spec.
